Equine Sports Massage Therapy
Massage for horses?! People look at me sideways when I tell them I am an Equine Sports Massage Therapist!
Yes, massage for horses is a real thing! Think about it this way. If you were out there running around barrels, jumping over jumps and being asked to carry people for hours, wouldn't you get sore?
Horse owners do a fabulous job keep their horses UTD on vet, farrier, and equine dentistry. However, we tend to forget that the horse's skeletal and muscular system does the majority of the work we ask them for!
Owners tend to notice new behaviors in their horse that may not have come up before, such as:
-
Overall attitude change in the horse
-
Girthy
-
Head tossing
-
Suddenly hard to bridle
-
Over-reaching
-
Counter cantering / missing lead changes
-
Cold backed / bucking / rearing
